Our philosophy:

Flying Too Close is more alive than not flying at all.

Greek myth: Icarus attempts to escape the imprisonment of a tower by flying off of it. In doing so, he gets distracted by the beauty of flight and veers too close to the sun–melting his wings and sending him down
into the depths of the sea.

Ironically, Icarus lived more during his flight
than he ever did at the
top of that tower.

Andrés Mejia

Owner/Director

Honduran descent, Illinois bred. I've been an avid learner of film and video techniques since I held my first VHS camera. I'm happy to say that a lot of my baseline film skills were self-taught, whether it was through watching long-winded YouTube tutorials or hopping on a friend's set as a glorified chauffeur(Production Assistant). I maintained my passion for film, refining it enough to pay for college through winning Video Contests.

I've since committed to telling powerful stories in ways that make an impact. My debut short film, The Echoes We See, has since gone on to win awards and accolades at multiple festivals. My stories often have an emphasis on humanity and the value of individual experiences! I'm proud to continue storytelling and uplifting marginalized voices through film.
